Rapid City Arts Council & the Department of Social Services              April 2018

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. During the month of April there will be an art exhibit at the Dahl Art Center. The artists are very special youth who are currently in foster care. Meals on Wheels                                                                                        April-May 2018

If you have 60 minutes, once a week (from 11:00-12:00), to deliver hot nutritious meals while providing a warm smile and a friendly contact to homebound seniors in our community, please call Meals on Wheels Rapid City at 605-394-6002. They are urgently looking for volunteer’s weekdays that can deliver meals to seniors that might otherwise go hungry in Rapid City. Several options available for delivering, once a month once a week or twice a week.

 

Box Elder/ Douglas School District Community Library                 April-May 2018

They will have a screening of the Ted Talk by renowned pediatrician Nadine Burke Harris. She has helped to propel the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) into reality and practiced it using it with her patients. The Black Hills Playhouse (BHP) is asking for volunteers to help with the cleanup of the BHP campus. The cleanup days are scheduled on Saturdays, May 12th & May 19th. The BHP is located at 24834 S. Playhouse Rd in Custer State Park. Volunteers will be scheduled from 9am until 4pm, with a potluck lunch at 12pm. Volunteers who cannot stay the entire day are still needed.
