April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. During the month of April there will be an art exhibit at the Dahl Fine Art Center. The artists are very special youth who are currently in foster care. There is a critical need for more families in the Rapid City area who are willing to keep siblings together, open their homes to children of all ages and especially teens. Safe Families for Children April-May
Have you ever considered what you would do if you were living in crisis and had no one safe to turn to for help? Safe Families for Children is here to help. Safe Families recruit volunteer host families to care for children whose parents are facing a temporary crisis such as homelessness or a medical emergency. South Dakota Annual Tornado Drill 04/26
A statewide tornado drill will be conducted for South Dakota by the National Weather Service between 9:00 and 9:30 am MDT (10:00 and 10:30 am CDT) on Wednesday, April 26. Because the exercise is used to ensure communications and warning systems are functioning properly before storm season, people will see and hear the actual alerts used for tornadoes.
